Multiple Disabilities Nonprofit Vision & Community

As someone living with multiple disabilities, I’m dedicated to creating inclusive spaces where people like us can connect, support each other, and work towards a more accessible world.

My Vision

I’m working towards establishing a nonprofit organization that will:

  • Connect individuals with multiple disabilities, their caregivers, and allies
  • Bridge the gaps between existing organizations that focus on one disability
  • Provide resources tailored to our unique needs
  • Advocate for comprehensive accessibility
  • Empower multiply disabled individuals to pursue their goals

While this nonprofit is still in the planning stages, I’m actively building communities and gathering insights to shape its future.

Our Community Groups

I run several groups for people with multiple disabilities:

  1. Facebook Group: Share experiences and find support
  2. Discord Server: Engage in real-time chats and discussions
  3. Groups.io Mailing List: Participate in email-based discussions and connect with others
  4. Clubhouse House: Participate in audio conversations on disability-related topics

How You Can Contribute

Your involvement is crucial in bringing this vision to life:

  • Join our community groups and share your perspectives
  • Help run the groups or contribute to their management
  • Write blog posts about life with multiple disabilities
  • Assist in developing plans for the future nonprofit
  • Spread awareness about the unique needs of our community

People with multiple disabilities and caregivers are welcome to participate. We ask that caregivers remember to prioritize the voices and experiences of individuals with multiple disabilities.
