This Survey Form is a web-based project developed as part of freeCodeCamp’s Responsive Web Design certification. It’s designed to collect feedback from subscribers of my blog on life with multiple disabilities, demonstrating skills in HTML structure and CSS styling for responsive design.
Project Overview
The form is tailored to gather insights from individuals with multiple disabilities, reflecting the focus of my personal blog. It showcases the ability to create accessible, user-friendly web forms while adhering to responsive design principles.
Key Features
- Responsive layout adapting to various screen sizes
- Diverse form elements including text inputs, dropdowns, and checkboxes
- Thoughtfully structured questions relevant to the disability community
- Accessible design considerations for users with various disabilities
Technical Highlights
- Semantic HTML5 for improved structure and accessibility
- CSS3 for styling and responsiveness
- Custom form validation to ensure data integrity
- Flexbox and/or Grid layout for responsive design
Development Challenges
As a developer with visual impairments, creating this survey form presented unique challenges:
- Implementing responsive CSS layouts without visual feedback
- Ensuring color contrast and readability for all users
- Structuring the form logically for screen reader compatibility
The CSS implementation was particularly challenging, requiring careful planning and testing to achieve a visually appealing and functionally responsive design. This project significantly enhanced my skills in creating accessible web forms and deepened my understanding of CSS layout techniques.
Real-World Application
Following the completion of this project, I adapted the form for actual use, distributing it to my blog subscribers. This practical application demonstrates the project’s relevance and effectiveness in gathering real user feedback in the disability community.
