Welcome to the digital hub of Lanie Carmelo—a dedicated advocate for disability advocacy, accessibility, and inclusion through a Christ-centered lens. My deep Christian faith is the cornerstone of my mission to create a more accessible world using technology. As a blind, autistic, and chronically ill programmer and usability tester, I invite you to explore my journey in coding and programming projects, which are inspired by Biblical principles. Dive into insights on disability rights and community building as we merge technology with empowerment and faith with everyday life. Together, let’s make the digital realm inclusive for all, reflecting God’s love for His children.
About Me
Hi, I’m Lanie, and I’m so glad you’re here!
First and foremost, I am a Christian. My faith is the foundation of everything I do, and it shapes how I approach life, my work, and the way I interact with others. This website is a reflection of who I am – a space where I share my journey, my passions, and my thoughts on a variety of topics related to disability advocacy.

A Bit About Me
I’m a 33-year-old Christian woman who is totally blind, autistic, and living with multiple health conditions. Despite these challenges, I’m determined to live a full and purposeful life. I’m currently studying programming through freeCodeCamp.org and Codecademy.com and Braille proofreading with the NFB. My ultimate goal is to create a nonprofit organization that supports people with multiple disabilities by connecting them to resources, education, assistive technology, and community—a key part of my commitment to disability advocacy.
When I’m not coding or advocating for accessibility and disability advocacy, you might find me:
- Gaming (I enjoy accessible games like word puzzles, RPGs, and MUDs)
- Swimming
- Reading sci-fi, fantasy, thrillers, or mysteries
- Planning an accessible garden filled with fruits, vegetables, and herbs
Stay Connected
This site is for anyone who wants to learn about accessibility and disability advocacy, follow my programming journey, or connect with someone navigating life with faith and resilience. Every post is an opportunity to share something new – if one topic doesn’t resonate with you, the next one just might! Feel free to reach out through the connect page.
I hope you’ll join me as we explore faith, technology, advocacy, and life together. Let’s work toward making the world – digital and physical – more inclusive for everyone!
