I’m so glad you’re here. This space is a reflection of the many facets of my life—my passions, projects, faith, and experiences. Advocacy for those living with multiple disabilities is just one part of what you’ll find here; this blog is also a place for sharing my journey, my work, and the things that matter most to me.

As you explore the blog or portfolio, you may notice some posts or projects with older publish dates. These were either imported from my old blog or manually added, with their dates adjusted to reflect when they were originally created. I wanted to preserve the context and timeline of these pieces while bringing them into this new space.

What This Blog Is About

This blog is a blend of everything that makes me, me. It’s a place where I’ll share:

  • Programming Projects: Updates on the accessible apps and tools I’m developing, which you can also explore on my portfolio page.
  • Faith and Life: Reflections on my journey as a Christian woman navigating the world with multiple disabilities.
  • Tech & Accessibility: Insights into how we can make technology more inclusive for everyone. Read more in my post about accessible gaming.
  • Disability and Rare Disease: Honest discussions about living with chronic illnesses and advocating for change.
  • Braille Proofreading: Updates on my training as a Braille proofreader and thoughts on the importance of Braille in accessibility.
  • Independent Living Skills: Stories about learning to cook, clean, do laundry, fold clothes, and more—sharing both challenges and successes along the way. I’ll also post new recipes or kitchen tips I discover!
  • Everyday Life: Personal stories, hobbies (like accessible gaming and gardening with tactile adaptations), and moments that bring joy or challenges.
  • Squeaker’s Adventures: Pictures and anecdotes about my Miniature Pinscher, Squeaker, who brightens my days with his personality and antics. He drives me nuts sometimes, but he’s also always making me smile!

Why I Created This Blog

A Space for Connection

I wanted to create a space where all of these aspects of my life could come together. As someone who’s a Christian conservative woman, asexual, blind, autistic, and living with multiple chronic health conditions, I know how isolating it can feel when your experiences don’t fit neatly into one category. My faith shapes how I approach advocacy, resilience, and everyday life.

A Platform for Advocacy

My goal is to foster understanding and build connections—whether it’s through sharing my programming journey, talking about faith, or advocating for accessibility in tech and beyond.

What You’ll Find Here

Here’s what you can expect from this blog:

  • Posts about my programming projects and lessons learned as I study accessible app and website development.
  • Thoughts on Christianity and how my faith shapes my perspective on life and advocacy.
  • Practical advice on accessibility in tech, informed by my work as a usability tester.
  • Stories about living with rare diseases and chronic illnesses—and how they intersect with disability rights.
  • Updates on my Braille proofreading training and why Braille literacy matters for inclusion.
  • Tales of learning independent living skills—like cooking or cleaning—and any recipes or tips I find helpful along the way.
  • Reviews of tech I find useful or fun to use.
  • Updates on hobbies like accessible gaming and gardening (with tactile adaptations).
  • Anecdotes about Squeaker—my Miniature Pinscher—who drives me nuts sometimes but always makes me smile!

This blog is about celebrating the intersections of identity, passion, and purpose. It’s about finding joy in small victories, navigating challenges with resilience, and building a community that values inclusion.
